The MLPA (Marine Life Protection Act) is coming to Southern California and bringing fishing closures with it. The Kayak Fishing Association of California is working within this largely political process to steer the closures away from our saltwater launch sites.
We need your help with the effort.
The Southern California Launch Sites List is a mapping project to document every saltwater kayak fishing area between Pt Conception and the US - Mexico border. If we don't know about your launch site, we can't try to protect it.
Please visit the project's webpage and tell us where you fish. The site is located at
http://www.kfaca.org/launchsites.htm. We are using the free, easy to use Google Earth program as our mapping tool.
Launch site information will be tightly held, only released as necessary during the MLPA Stakeholder effort.
I'll check back frequently. Questions, post away, but please don't submit your launch site info here in the open where anyone can see it, including pro-closure forces.
