Why would you need a rack for the front of the kayak if it is resting in the bed of the truck and you have an extend a hitch for the back of the boat? Just tie the end of the kayak down to the bed. (which should probably be the back of the kayak not the front)

I like it in the bed with the extender much better; much easier to load and unload.

The tailgate ext can be turned and used vertical. I bet yours can be turned and used horizontal.
