The semi-inflatable butt pads make a huge difference(with even the best seat). Crack of dawn ones at OEX are only $15 or $19 I think . Don't inflate it to the max, too stiff and you sit too high.

A really cheap way to add padding is to go to the garden dept and pick up one of those kneeling pad. They're dense foam pads about 15"x6"x3/4". Just slip it under your seat. Cost is about $2-3.00.

Was just in Target and right when you walk in thet have those dollar bins. In there they have these 1" thick foam Knee/butt pads. Thet are cut to fit your Arse shape and look like they were custom made for kayaks. Two for a dollar!
