I always keep a well sharpened fillet knife firmly ducttaped to my left hand at all times and large serated blade well within reach of my right hand incase my left hand gets caught in the kelp. At which point I'll then begin to cut away at the left arm. It hasn't had to come to that yet (thank god) but you never know.
