THE WHALE WHO WANTED NACHOS

Fridays's Recap:

This Morning I only slept for 2 hours. I was really excited about going fishing. I woke up at 2 am and tried to sleep till 3am, it didn't work so I left the house to 3:30am. At 4am I received a text from steveoo who arrived at the launch site before me. He said Frankie, ITS ALL GOOD!!!

Suddenly i am flying down the freeway and arrive at the Jewel at 5:25am. -

I arrive at the launch site, and WHO DO I SEE!!

IT'S the Grand Master, King of the flat fish, Super Halibut Champion Greg Andrew and his dynamic butt killing machine Super Slayer buttchaser John.

I was so happy i didn't have to fish alone.
To me FISHING ALONe SUCKS!!!

(to me at least)

Well how would i describe today...

EPIC

Let me just tell Kiyo: (your advise paid off)

As soon as i launched and passed the reserve, I prepared the " The Super Iron of Awesomeness" I pinned on one Kiyo Special and not even a few mins later. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
BOOM!!! SPLASH BOOM SPLASH!!!!

Thresher SHARK!!! Jumping and dancing pulling my lines. I grab my rod, and Snap my line cuts off.

" The Super Iron of Awesomeness" lost

Don't worry I have a spare, look in my middle hatch. (not there)
Looking in my bag of fishing tackles. ( Not there)

THIS SUCKS!!!!

John then tells me, don't worry Frank i have 400 of those.

THANKS JOHN!!!!

Weather Conditions:

No currents, no wind, RED TIDE EVERYWHERE. FISHING SUCKS!!!

Why did i drive two hours to get here! The sun did not even peak out all day!!!!

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ..............

I got big fish , wraps himself in bull kelp. (lost the fish and a simple setup)

fish were very picky today. There was this one fish where it took my bait and a few mins later grab John fish and ran for it.

3pm hits

WHALE HEADED YOUR WAY " DIRECTLY TOWARDS YOU"

WTH!!!! I see him submerge about 20-30 yards from us. I start grabbing my knife and pliers and small things that i have on my kayak and put them in my pocket, and make sure everything is tied down.

I start to panic because i see the bubble coming toward me. WTH!!!!! THIS WHALE WANTS NACHOS!!!

I start thinking at 1000x per min " please do not come up under me!!!

I look at my fish finder. HOLY SMOKE HE RIGHT UNDER ME. The whale takes 3/4 of my fish finder screen and come back up shortly behind me, for the next 15 mins the whale did its calls and I kept a watchful eye.

One the way in, I got desperate and Loaded up two of Kiyo Specials on my rig and paddled in. BOOM!!!! HIT and picked up a 32 WSB.

I load up another two of Kiyo Specials. ANOTHER THreshers!!! Booom splash splash. takes over with like 100 yards of line, i reel, he pulls and jumps and i lose it.

Epic day. Surf and landing was easy.
