Tuesday fished 5:30 am to 2 pm in a sea of kayaks and great weather.
Long slow morning on the water for me and a buddy. He caught three spanish macks in one drop, that was all the bait we got for the day.
We managed to get one yellowtail each in a double hookup, so no action photos here.
We fished out deeper in 130' down south, and ran across a school of puddling yellows later. They chased the surface iron to the boat twice and managed to only nip at it. We also saw a pod of whales out there (pilot whales I think) at a distance.
I had something eat the tiny black swivel used as a connector from my 30 lb spectra to my topshot. Apparently the teeth went right through the heavy spectra with only 2 clicks off the clicker. That swivel was only the size of a big ant - I can barely cut that stuff with pliers or scissors!! Baby mako or cuda?
Anyway I was "BLESSED WITH THE OPPORTUNITY" to completely re-rig that topshot.
The smaller Calicos were WFO on the way in on plastics, smaller models, up to about 2 lbs..
Here's Dylan with his Yellow ...
