I wasn't on the May trip....but I was posting the same questions you're asking me in those threads!
We've yet to get into the YT in my previous 3 trips (a 1.5 day, a 2.5 day, and a 3.5 day), but the fishing has been outstanding every time.
If we get to fish the weather side definitely get in as deep into the kelp as you can and fish live or dead squid for some monster goats. Last year, on the last day of the trip I caught between forty and fifty goats, all out of one big hole in the kelp.
