Its a bit strange that website says before the damns were built on the Colorado River it was a spawning area for stripers. Striped bass aren't native to the west coast or the Colorado river and weren't stocked in to the river until after all the main dams were built.

Any impoundment that gets its water from the Colorado River or the Delta will have stripers in it. They get pumped in at small size or even as larvae. Local lakes that get local water don't have stripers. I've never fished the delta but I can say there are plenty of stripers all over the Colorado river. I think the closest lake to SD that has stripers is Lake Skinner east of Tamecula. Mike
