Last time I was down there I watched two guys catching bonefish on ghost shrimp midway down the dike on the main bay (in a skiff). I tried and tried with the fly rod, but only bass and croaker were interested in my offering.
A conservation guy driving his truck on the dike stopped and talked to me - the fly rod attracted his attention - he told me that the guides regularly bring clients out and fish just off the big cement piles on the dike and catch bonefish with regularity there. He was out trapping crows and ravens, who would otherwise raid the plover nests.
I like it there alot, and odds are you will be fishing all by yourself...
