Actually Google maps does read in degrees as well as decimal. It just needs to be in the correct format. For example take

33deg 27'40'N

117deg 45'50'W

and input it into Google maps as

33 27'40"N, 117 45'50"W and it works. You can use the degree ° sign instead of a space.
