From the picture I'll assume you fished the patch at deer creek or maybe Leo since it's easier to launch there, just the same though. That spot is notorious for spontaneous rollers and it drops off so fast they slam heavy and can get high by the time they get to the beach. I spear fished that spot regularly years ago and had to drop my belt (weights, catch bag, dive knife) because those swells got me wrapped up in the kelp. I too had a this is where it's going to happen moment, sucked. Glad you are ok and shook it off. Respect the ocean for sure, and that appears to be a pin back shark,
