6th or 7th? You'll definitly find someone launching out with you. Last time you kayaked out there maybe you noticed the yellow pole shaped buoys? They span from the caves and boxes itself towards Scripps Pier. That is your reference for the preserve line.... Get out past those towards the kelp and you'll be able to make plenty of bait on a sabiki. Fin bait that is. There is plenty of kelp to work the artificials as well.
