just go try. I like to stay a few hundred ft. off the kelp slow trolling live bait, maybe just cruz around 100-120ft of water. eyes always peeled for surface action, if you see anything through surface

if you are not confident in going at it yourself hire a guide, if you don't catch fish you will have a better idea how to find them and what gear to use.
