Don't get the Alphamar. I loved this reel when I first got it, so much so I bought a second. After about 10 trips I had to send them in for being extremely squeaky. A month after that, they went in again, one for the anti-reverse bearing going bad and the other for more squeakyness. Finally, after only owning them for 6 months, the level wind started to grind down on itself on the 14, and the freespool lever no longer worked on my alphamar 20.
Finally, Abu was sick of fixing my reels, and it was costing me a ton of money to keep shipping them back so they replaced them with Penn Fathom 15
s. Which, so far I love. I've only had them for about a month but they've already seen a good deal of fish fighting. They are much smoother, smaller, same drag, nicer looking and more advanced than the Alphamars
