How many miles on your Hobie kayak ?
I was out on a particularly foggy day recently and was scrolling through some of the screens when I saw this......
http://www.bigwatersedge.com/bwegall...0/P1010197.JPG I used this FF head for a full season a few years ago, before upgrading to a higher wattage, dual beam Hummingbird without GPS which uses the same mount and transducer. Since then I only use this head for GPS when fog is an issue. I also want to say thanks to Fastlane and HOBIE. As one can imagine, hundreds of surf launches/landings and a thousand+ miles of ocean travel (I don't fish fresh/bays) can be pretty hard on equipment. But to be honest the failures have been very minimal. Mostly V1 sprockets/turbo masts which has since been fixed with the introduction of the V2 sprockets/masts (I have not broken one of those yet). Recently I had the drive-well crack (where the fins snap into the hull) on my 06 Revo, a quick trip to Fastlane and less than 24hrs later I was in Oceanside getting a quick tour of the manufacturing process, checking out the new OASIS tandem, and picking up my fresh 2011 Revo hull. THANK YOU, FASTLANE and HOBIE !!!!! :you_rock: So....how many miles on your yak? |
How do you keep your shoes dry? Miles are cool but I think some nautical calulations and the time on the water are more directly concerned with hours. Like ,engines are based on hours rather than miles traveled. To get a maritime license one needs "hours" on the water, for example. A good year is when you have more hours on the water than hours driving a car!! 1100mi. is alot of time spent on the water....

So essentially just the La Jolla 500 twice.........big deal :D

Hey Bro, every GPS has to be re-set before each trip so you get the real distance traveled. Satellite move & that puts mile on your GPS even if you are not moving, so try this: re-set it and stored it & by the end of the week see how many miles you got?:)

Many people on this board can probably tell that Scally has put in a good number of trips together. I saw him once at LJ and the guy was circling the grounds so fast I think he probably put on 10 miles by the time I cought my firs squirt. High water time like that is great, wish I could pull it off.

No doubt. |
One things is for sure, if those where sky miles, you & Wade would never have to buy a plane ticket any more.
