San Diego Unified School District and MLPA
I have yet to hear back from John DeBeck regarding any official position on the MLPA process by the school board members. I still feel the endorsement offered by the Enviro "Lady" at the recent meeting may have been bogus but can not confirm. I have supported Mr. DeBeck and his tireless efforts for our schools for many years. If I don't hear back from Katherine Nakamura by Monday I will likely vote for the challenger, honored math instructor Beiser.
I will let you know if I hear anything. I would still like to know what school the Coral Reefer Girls hailed from so I can get my kids application in right away. Keep up the good fight, Kurt |
I was sitting right next to the Reafer Girls when they spoke. I think they were wearing some school shirts. Someone probably has a photo or two. I know that some of the other kids had different school shirts on so I am sure that these kids came from multiple schools. You might be able to review the video from the event.

I remember them wearing blue t-shirts and remember seeing Torrey Pines on other blue ones just don't know if they were the same.

I don't have much time to go through this (with my lil niñas to care for), but somewhere on here is an archive video of the meeting, and all speakers, etc.
http://www.cal-span.org/cgi-bin/media.pl?folder=CFG I'll be watching this thread with interest. :) |
Their shirts were a turquoise color and I didn't see any school names printed. I don't think any of them said their school either. Do they publish written minutes? That may give a speaker's affiliation from their speaker card.

I think I remember now. It was Torrey Pines Middle School on some of the kids shirstsbut not the Reefer Girls.
