Mirage Drive Dosent Fit...?
So I traded my Adventure for a Sport, but kept all my own gear, like the drive and such. Well, when I got out on the water today, when trying to install the drive, I found it wouldnt fit. It dosent seat properly, almost like its too big. Am I doing something wrong? Or is there a difference in the drives from V1-V2 and how they install.
Both use the twist install for the drive so I figured it would be the same. Any ideas? |
mirage drive
When I got a replacement hull for my 06 outback the 2010 bracket needed a new center pin. They pounded out the ol style from the drive and in w the new. Ends were a loose so I wrapped a little duct tape on the end posts, now shes good.
Hope this helps. |
Sorry, kind of having a hard time understanding what youre trying to say.
I got it in yesterday. The sides that stick out the furthest are really tight fit in the drive well, im thinking of shaving it down a little, but worried it may compromise the drive under pressure. What I did instead was loosen the bolts that hold the knobs in so that I could raise them up and then I could turn it to hold the drive in place. These were nearly stripped, but luckily I had a new set, but it was a pain getting the old ones out. It is secure and it clicks in fine, but its a pain getting my finger in there to lift up the knob to get it to work. I may end up shaving the bottom of it so it has a steeper angle and I can turn it and itll lift it self up and over. Any thoughts? |
You should address this question to Hobie via their forum.
http://www.hobiecat.com/forums/ Matt always gets back to you quickly. What year was your adventure and what year is the sport? I'm guessing V1 / V2 has something to do with it. |
The adventure was an 07, the sport is 08.
Ill check them out, thanks. |
