Note to Self...
Homeguards will school you if you don't have your stuff in order...
Went out thursday, had one shot. The line was wrapped around the side of my reel as he started to peel line. The 40 lb mono actually melted into the side of my reel. Nothing like popping off a good fish in front of 40 of your closest kayaker friends... :o http://www.bigwatersedge.com/bwegall...0/P7010003.jpg http://www.bigwatersedge.com/bwegall...0/P7010004.jpg Went out yesterday on a buddys boat for the smaller stuff, caught this guy. Any guesses for the species? http://www.bigwatersedge.com/bwegall...0/P7020013.jpg http://www.bigwatersedge.com/bwegall...0/P7020015.jpg Everyone be safe out there this weekend, should be a ZOO! |
It looks similar to a lincod. Are they found this far south?

insane !!!!!!!!!! :cheers1:
(I guess just be glad it wasn't your finger that was all looped up before that run!?..) |
Dude that was such a bummer to see! Hearing that clicker scream was music to my ears... right up until you put the reel in gear. :(
|
Sucks to lose the fish, but that sure did leave a cool battle scar on the Daiwa.
Don't know what that thing is, but we caught a few similar ones in the Sea of Cortez a while back. http://www.bigwatersedge.com/images/PA010154.gif |
^Nah, that's a jawfish. (AKA bigmouth bastard)
I like the monkeyface prickleback. Would be cool if it was one of those. edit: the consensus on BD seems to be jawfish, too. "Well I'll be..." |
the fish is a bluebanded ronquil . nice :cheers1:
|
Crazy! If that had been a finger, you'd have 4 today. Is a cool battlescar though!
|
ouch Steve.
I know the fact you lost it hurts, but the scars on the reel are pretty cool! :) |
Its a War out there, and these Fish fight to Win.
I'm glad nothing else got wrapped up in that line. Be careful the spectra doesn't cut your kayak in half.:) |
