Went out thursday, had one shot. The line was wrapped around the side of my reel as he started to peel line. The 40 lb mono actually melted into the side of my reel. Nothing like popping off a good fish in front of 40 of your closest kayaker friends...

It looks similar to a lincod. Are they found this far south?

Dude that was such a bummer to see! Hearing that clicker scream was music to my ears... right up until you put the reel in gear. :(

Sucks to lose the fish, but that sure did leave a cool battle scar on the Daiwa.

Don't know what that thing is, but we caught a few similar ones in the Sea of Cortez a while back.

I know the fact you lost it hurts, but the scars on the reel are pretty cool! :)

Be careful the spectra doesn't cut your kayak in half.:)
