Finally got the brace and sling removed and the doctor signed off on my arm as being ahead of schedule. I'll be back on the water sooner than I know.

After my first Kayaking fishing trip I was loading my Kayak into the back of my truck. While trying to close my tailgate with my right hand only my bicep tendon snapped and had to be surgically repaired a week later. So since March 14th. I've not been able to do anything with my right arm. Surgery was done on March 22nd and now today the brace and bandages came off and I can start rehabbing to get back to normal.:luxhello:

whoa... that sounds intensely painful. Wish you well getting better.

Thanks, just finished my first rehab and all is doing well. I'll be sure to do my homework and keep getting my arm better.

Were you pulling exceedingly hard with your arm? I remember my dad ripping the tendons off his arm when we were trying to get my mom's car unstuck in a driveway full of ice.

I was holding my lifting my Kayak with my left arm while I was trying to close my tailgate with the right arm. The arm was fully extended and Dodge Tailgates are made of lead it seems like. I could have totally prevented this, 1)I could have just strapped the yak to the bed and hung a red flag from the end, or 2) asked my buddy to help. Either one of those would have helped me prevent this injury. Fortunately I have insurance so it's been a releaf.

I highly advise everyone to think before lifting anything and if you need help, don't be too proud to ask, it could save you from surgery.
