Changing out Spectra

How long is spectra good for? I refilled last summer, and only was able to go out a few times. I hate to throw away good line and money. But I hate to have it fail too.

was it rinsed well after each use? I know many believe in changing line each year, but I'm not sure if that holds true with spectra or not.

you're right, it doesn't hold true for spectra. Thats one of the great benefits of braid. I'll keep my backing for 3 to 4 yrs.

spectra lasts for years. rinse the reels after use. lock down the drags and rinse well. let dry. loosen drag all the way and tighten spool tension thingy.

I have had the same spectra on my Rock cod reels for 2 years with no issues. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one. I also wonder why it took me so darn long to start using Spectra, or Braided line period.
