<!--NYT_INLINE_IMAGE_POSITION1 --><NYT_TEXT>YARMOUTH, Mass. — Dave Lamoureux’s kayak, named Fortitude, must be the only one in Massachusetts registered as a motor vessel. That’s because a powerboat registration is required to get a permit to fish for tuna here.

Its true, I'm from Jersey and it was hard to shift to conventional gear. Still stick to it in the bays and freshwater, but invested in new gear for the salt. Can't think of why this guy sticks to spinning gear for monster species from the yak.

I still have my old Daiwa 4500 spinner in the garage from the Jersey days.
It landed many-a-bluefish, striped bass, and fluke.:)

-Its the one that makes a loud clicking noise that can not be turned off. I was tempted to use it out here but you would be able to hear it from across the canyon.:biggrinjester:
