Knife jigs

Anyone using these yet? I saw them at Squidco and could not resist the glow and pink squiddly one for $7. This is the smallest of three sizes, the 4 oz. They are not rigged, I put on a 5/0 siwash, think a 7/0 would be better. That is a 6XJR for size reference.

Somebody was using one during the December madness and caught one or more. He is a younger guy, I think rides a tan Hobie. I have a sardine colored one, same size, nothing but macks and sandies so far. I haven't used it much. I threaded a stinger hook and ring on the top eye only.

What's the method of fishing those? Same as yo yo?

Here's one way to fish them. It's a massive download, but worth it if you have the speed.

I kind of jig them, instead of ripping them up yoyo style.

Andy,
We've used them at LJ... I usually bring a set up with a knife jig on it. It gets pretty tiresome, because it's more then the regular yo. Have yet to catch a fish on it, though...

I likes the one on the left for next weekend.....
Tip that with a bit of squid and I'll be having steamed rockfish in peanut oil all week...

The Mega Bait in the mackeral (the first one in the photo) and sardine colors work great for yellow tail... work them like the irons.... drop them straight down and reel them up as fast as you can... bam! Nut'n but yellas!
