LJ 2/19 am
Launched about 6. The weatherman tricked me into not going yesterday, so I was going today or else. The only rain I got was around 12:30 on the paddle back in. Went North looking for halibut, didn't find anything. Saw lots of dolphins and seals, even some whales inside the torrey reef..
The launch area is a mess. That sewer/storm drain outlet caused a big problem. The pavement kind of gave way in some spots, and the runoff carved a mini canyon into the beach. Huge 4 foot deep hole right where people drive onto the beach: http://www.bloodydecks.com/gallery/f...5/IMG_0476.JPG http://www.bloodydecks.com/gallery/f...5/IMG_0477.JPG http://www.bloodydecks.com/gallery/f...5/IMG_0478.JPG You can still drive onto the beach but there isn't much space to go around the hole, and even then you have to drive over a big crack. |
Wow
What a mess! Thanks for the info.
