Fishing Near the Kelp

Guys, I was wondering, when fishing near the kelp, is a 25lb floro leader adequate if I am using 40 or 50 lb. braided? I haven't caught anything worth a lick, but I would like to be prepared when the heavens open up and shine brightly upon me. Thanks.

should be fine. just let the braid do the work. no horsing the fish if it buries.

Thanks for asking, I was wondering the same.

Do you fish this rig with a swivel - Carolina rig style or with knot and the weight resting on the hook?

Gregg uses buble gum and tinfoil to tie all his knots.....

You can use spectra connected to flouro with either a small ring or swivel. Add 2 oz above the swivel for a carolina rig.
