Heyyyy....that rod holder is similar to what I was thinking, except I was just gonna do one hole for the tips and one for the rear, maybe I just need a bungee like that one does for the rear. These things are getting tricked out....A+ for thought and innovation on that one.:luxhello:

I think I'll stick with my outback.

Mine has 4 molded in rod holders (2 in front, 2 in back). Sure the Pro angler can store 6 rods but has only 2 rod holders in the rear.
Mine has 2 cup holders. Pro Angler has none.
Mine has 2 quick release bungie strap for the front hact. Pro Angler has 2 bungies to release for front hatch.
Mine weighs in at 70 pounds and I can lift it over my head to load it on my jeep. The Pro Angler is 138 pounds. I'll need a special trailer for it. iguess that is the part boat about it.
Sure the Pro Angler has easy access "replaceable mounting boards". Usually when they mention that something is replaceable it means that it will break sooner than latter and the replacement part will cost a lot to replace..if you can find it.
I think I'll keep ahold of my OutBack for a while longer.

But who knows I'll probably fall in love with it when I see it at Fred Hall.

I saw one of the prototypes down at a local shop - very big and heavy. Looks to be more of a flat water bass boat and slow to get around compared to the other Hobies. One of the test drivers said it was quite stable in the water and outside the harbor in the swells despite sitting pretty high off the water.

Think boat, not kayak.

Ok, so a couple of months ago whilst fishing LJ, I saw the hobie team testing this boat. It is definitely one hell of a machine!! However, if you have ever remarked about the bulkiness of an Xfactor, ya better be ready...they had a trailer for this yak! Just for the record, I am in no way hating on this machine just stating that it is definitely a lot closer to a skiff than it is a "standard" kayak, it is damn near a new concept, it truly looks awesome in all honesty, the sight fishing that can be acheived with this boat is almost unimaginable!! Cannot wait to see this thing in its completed form!!!:jig:

Saw it at OR in August. Think more of a Big Boy Bass boat. Slap on an outboard and it would really be pimp. You really do need a trailer and help to deal with this beast. Has a lot of well thought out features though.

I plan on buying a Hobie and was waiting for the new one to come out. I think that I will stick with the Revo.

Looks like it has some nice features but what a tank. Who wants a yak that needs a trailer? Makes you wonder what they're thinking? Kinda like Shimano coming out with a Trinidad 50 in this day and age.

My next fishing machine will be a 12 ft. Porta-Bote.
68 lbs. as much as my Hobie, with 670 lb. capacity.
17-20 mph with a 5 HP. motor.

I will provide free kayak towing to, or from the magic fishing grounds for my friends.:)
