Cooooooooooooold Seal Beach 12-20
The swells are gone so it was time to try the home area for some action. Meet Andy at 6:15am put on my sweats, thermal socks and waders launched into small waves by the jetty. Headed out to the end of the jetty to start the morning, actually warm with the exception of my hands, though frezzing still kinda worked. Picked a rockfish of the jetty and had some other short bites. The offshores were blowing strong and cold, actual white caps from the offshores. Buttered up the razorbacks and 1oz skirted leadhead with a 4" grud, drifted out to the sandie area and started catching and releasing and thought about getting out the camera but it was too cold. The drift was pretty fast with the offshores and at the Bouy I hooked a fish and it was pulling drag took a while to get it up to the kayak. It turned out to be a black seabass so I got out the camera to take a pic. Got the fish up to the kayak and lifted it using the lead head witch slipped right out of its mouth and started floating away took a quick pic and paddled over to it to revive it. As soon as the fish felt the side of my kayak it rolled over and hightalled toward the bottom
