Cold Weather Gear

Winter is coming up and I want to talk about cold weather gear. I am thinking waders vs rain slicker. What are you using and why.? :hmmmm:

I use a wetsuit bottom and a dry top with a couple layers of clothing underneath.

I have a neoprene wader, but I can't pee out of it, so I dont use it.

Breathable waders and splash jacket with layers underneath. I haven't used it yet, but the mysterioso stuff looks like a good base layer.

Peeing can be difficult, but it's not impossible. The warmth all morning is worth the inconvenience in my opinion. I've used splash pants or a wetsuit before, but the waders were a huge improvement in comfort and warmth.

I would highly recommend against the rain slicker (button up jacket for walking in the rain, correct?). Go with the splash jacket.

I have used a 4/3 wetsuit that I surf in and it doesnt come close to waders and a jacket. Do yourself a favor and get them. Warm dry and happy.

Breathable waders and layers, warm in Alaska, warmer here.
Mysterioso is AWESOME.
