South LJ 9/14
Launched at Big Rock and slow trolled the spanish outside the kelp for
nothing, spent an hour or two. Tons of bait and birds around kelpline but no :yt: love. Worked out a little deeper for white taco meat pictured below. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...hOTW091408.jpg Team Taco http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...hCropped09.jpg Moyer Tournament photo from last weekend .... http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...l090608001.jpg |

It looks like you had a hitchhiker on the Sculpin (big ling ?), and is the screen blurred on the meter so we can't find the secret taco stand? :D

Must've been a drop of water on the lens :) probably 142'ish :). The
mark on the fat scully is only discoloration from the ice. These seven reds were caught within a 20 x 20 square foot area on a rockpile. Another note, its 4+ miles of travel to that spot from the Shores launch, and, the Big Rock launch is featuring a challenging 7' vertical drop to the sand right now. :luxhello: I also battled a couple short lings on live macks, and broke off or pulled hooks on bigger models - the bull kelp minefield keeps those fish pretty safe! As the water temp drops next month these bottom-grabbers will go into high gear. |
nice fish how do i get on the hobie team i have a hobie outback suv

Wokiee - its not easy. Start with a few years of kayak fishing under your
belt, then build your Kelp Cred* by hosting some seminars, set a fishing record, win a contest, get to know everyone in the kayak fishing community, contribute design ideas, be seen as a glowing ambassador for this growing sport ... and maybe, just maybe, you will be invited by a local shop or a Team Manager at Hobie to enjoy a coveted spot on this Hobie Team page: http://www.hobiecat.com/fishing/team/resumes_local.html It's actually not as easy as it sounds (nor quite as glamorous). :) * Kelp cred: like Street Cred, only ...... DENNY,
You can get a photocard or book from www.RockfishID.com Here is the DFGs Groundfish Central for ID http://www.dfg.ca.gov/marine/groundfishcentral/gi.asp Specifically you can print these two pages for free: http://www.dfg.ca.gov/marine/pdfs/shelfrockfish.pdf Here is the Canary vs the Vermillion. http://www.dfg.ca.gov/marine/pdfs/canary_id.pdf Around here you mostly have to keep an eye out for the Bocaccio.
