DP 06-28 report
1 Attachment(s)
Weather: Cool, cloudy, some drizzle, fairly breezy with about a one foot chop, no whitecaps though.
Bait: Extra large sardines, fair condition. Water: Kind of cloudy, dirty. 67.5-69.7 degrees, choppy. Fishing: Slowish So I took out my new 360 for it's maiden voyage. Handled the water just fine. And while I didn't think I would use the 360 much that feature ended up being kind of handy. Whenever I got stuck on some rocks instead of having to peddle for a few yards to gain steering traction I was able to just turn on a dime. Trolled for a while with no love. Hit a few spots, again with no love. Finally headed in towards the beach. Two short halibut, short Sandy and my PB Calico later, headed in. |
Cool. Thanks for the report. Nice Calico. Was it busy out there?

Nice Calio! Thanks for the report. I went out there Saturday 6/27 on the water at 6:00am and it was the nicest conditions I've seen out there in at least 4-5 weeks. Made bait pretty easily (sardines, anchovies and macs all liked the same sabiki!). Got a decent sandy on the way to the drop 2 miles out. Dragged a hoochie bounce rig with frozen squid on the bottom for a few hours while trolling a greenback. No luck other than constant sand dab bait-thieves... Got an 18" calico on the way in with my last sardine!

I also managed to get out. Nothing good, I did manage a small thresher shark. Baby, but wow what a tail.
Saw much bait perfect sized sardines in 30 ft of water. Capo area. |
