Wall 5-4-2020
Launch time 6:15
Needed to get out after being in the house for almost 2 months. Red tide reports so i decided to try the wall. No more kelp on the out side of the wall. Or fish willing to try a fly either, so after an hour I moved to the inside and found a rock pile with some kelp holding some fish. water temp 66.5 First fish https://i.postimg.cc/s2j4Mk0k/IMG-1208.jpg First double https://i.postimg.cc/cLNmSg74/IMG-1212.jpg A few more fish photos https://i.postimg.cc/c43m2Mnb/IMG-1218.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/2SFx8kTd/IMG-1219.jpg The bite started at 8AM and lasted till 9:30, started home at 10:30. 10 Calicos 1 Mackerel It was really nice to social distance on the water. what size fly line are you using? Is it a sinking line, sinking tip? What is your set up, what size rod. I used to use a seven sized 9' rod with a sinking line for bass at the lake. .I tried that on corvina at the salton sea with a steel rod that the fish broke in half. That was probably why steel rods were never popular but it was fun to try

I use a 8 Wt. rod with a 250 or 300 Gr. 30 foot sink tip line with running line behind that. the only time i have broken rods is on a bat ray of banging it on a rock. OPS.
