Bishop trip 3-5-2020
My last bishop trip with the Long Beach Casting Club for the lower Owens.
Thursday I waded to a spot i had been looking at all winter and the flow was down to 125 i just made it. And was rewarded. https://i.postimg.cc/nr1p6WW4/IMG-0927.jpg [url=https://postimg.cc/7b68jZ04]https://i.postimg.cc/Vs9frSNJ/IMG-0928.jpg[/url Friday I went to another spot that has not been good for a while, it has improved. https://i.postimg.cc/SsCyGR7t/IMG-0938.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/vHQQWQ13/IMG-0950.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/tg1RY21b/IMG-0961.jpg Last day did a reconnoiter in the AM and got skunked, but found some fish in the afternoon. https://i.postimg.cc/yxK7pKL6/IMG-0956.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/q79Jnyn3/IMG-0958.jpg I had a really good trip and it was BEAUTIFULLY all weekend .. well we did have some wind.. I have not done any trout fishing here in California, only ocean and at the Colorado River. Are there rules for accessing the streams and rivers in regards to private property?
In my hometown in Colorado, if the river runs through private property, then you can't fish without permission (which is why I really don't fish much there anymore because a lot of the best fishing is "managed" by expensive clubs). At my place in Idaho, you can access water on private property as long as you are in the water, ie. wading, or within the water line. I'd like to head up to the Bishop area and give it a go, but I've got not experience w/ the area. |
Most of the water of the Owens valley os owen by the LADWP.
Then they let the public fish most of the water. Mark |
