Another DP report 09-22
Yep, the wind was up at 10:30.
The bait was very nice, about the best it could be. Water temp down about 10 degrees from a week or so, 69. But the wind, the WIND!!!! Got a late start, about 10am, got some bait and headed west as I heard there was a good bonito bite going on about a mile offshore and out towards the red buoy at the point trolling two rapalas. Never made it there, the farther out the stronger the wind and waves, which were breaking over the front pretty significantly. After two hours of pedaling, reaching trolling speeds of about 0.2 mph, I got about halfway there. With the front tub full of water and about 3 inches in the kayak I gave up and turned back for the harbor. Didn't even get to use a bait. |
stupid wind. sorry about the unused bait. Maybe you kept for hooping or froze some for your next outing.
Thanks for the report. Pays to be an early bird lately. |
Thanks for the report. Was it too windy inside at Doho too?

was out there also but on a 22ft boat. Weather forecast did not call for that much wind! Sucked big time but did manage 2 good size Bonita early around 10 but wind picked up and it was over. I almost died last time I was out there in a paddle kayak as it took me over 2 hours to paddle back in against the wind. It was nice to be on a private boat lol!

Papa Dave, you need to upgrade the seal on the front hatch... I don't get a single drop in my pa17t... Go to home Depot buy a better gasket and marine glue the crap out of it ....I was out 5 miles with some nasty wind chop swells going over my bow.... A tub full of water is a big no no
