Started a little late, because i was up late. Met up with Ed and Roger.
Ed was nice enough to donate a greenie, although he did not know that until after i took possession. Made some spanish also and trolled one high and one low. Just started and my clicker took off screaming on the greenie with a 2 oz. sinker. Picked up in about 90' of water in front of the hotel. Off on a long ride out to deep water. Hooked on a seeker classic and torium 30 with 25 lb. Towards the end of the fight it started spinning me in 360's in place. Hook turned out to be in the dorsal fin. Estimated 90 to 95 lb on shore. Ed took the pics, and will add later.

John P, WTG with the Thresher!
I think a fin hooked fish is harder to land than a mouth hook, but at least that way it was harder for him to cut you off!

I saw you at the landing as I was loading my lime trident. My guess was about 90 too. I'll be back out tomorrow trolling rapalas.

When Brett said a guy in a sky p15 got one I told him it was probably you. Good job man.

Nice job on the "T". I hooked 2 today. Both shot out of the water like a Surface to air missle. Even though I tired him out and brought him alongside the yak I had no idea how to safely land him. I was by myself.
What is the prefferred teckniqie for corraling a "T"? Thanks in advance.

Ratdog, the preferred technique is having two of your buddies constantly razzing you while you talk them into grabbing the tail and roping it off. The "T" should be totally spent. I found it difficult to drag aboard and would not have been able to do it without help. CJ pretty funny we just talked about thresher and there it is. There was another one shore and heard about two others. If you are looking for one they appear to be somewhat available right now. It was actually hooked in the pectoral fin as corrected by support team, and hook was easily removed by hand. Paddled in in the posistion the shark is in the pic. due to weight distribution. Got nervous and inserted the bat in its mouth so as not to get an inadvertant chomp:eek:
