La Jolla 02 May
Launched just before sun up. Not many people out (counted about 12 yakers). Nothing like a wake up slap from Mother Nature. 2 waves slapped me in the face. That'll get you going.
Water was murcky just out of the surf zone out past the yellow marker. Water was so murcky I could get a sonar signal. Drifted from spot to spot for nada. Pulled up a small cabazon and one mak on a small swim bait. Water was weird with a slight murcky sheen. Other yakers I talked to said they had similar results. NADA. Better luck tomorrow. |
The highlight of my day was a Thresher strike. I took pictures of the mac since it was sliced up pretty good. It was on for 5 seconds or so. Not sure if it was tail wrapped and swam out of it or if it was in the mouth and just didn't stick. I did feel some violent head shakes/ or tail whips then it was off. I heard of a few Threshers landed this morning other than that nothing. That wierd sheen was very green. WSB green?

This water sheen that was mentioned, was it diesel?
I was out in April 25th, outside the kelp near the point, and saw stuff on the water, that would break up if I hit it with the paddle.:hmmmm2: |
