Kayak Launch Locations Cardiff On North
 

Hello all,

I am sure this has been discussed many times so please forgive me as I’m new to the area.
I’m trying to find a mellow launch site for the kayak. I’m not a tall guy @ 5’10” so chest high waves can be pretty damn big with an 85lbs rig. Does any one know if you can launch in the lagoons near carlsbad and paddle offshore. Ive been out many times to the kelp paddies by the power station but I’m getting tired of the beatings @5:00am and lost gear. Launched from stone steps and warm waters mostly, o’side harbor is a bit of a hike. Any suggestions are well received.

La Jolla Shores. Probably 30 minute drive from Carlsbad but way worth it per fish quality and launch conditions.
