Battery Question

I am finally rigging up my kayak with the bait tank and I've been reading up on power sources for the tank and FF. Do you recommend a separate battery for the FF so it won't cause interference when bait tank switches on? Also if the battery is located near the FF transducer will that cause additional noise?

Yep, looks like I missed the bite in February at LJ.

Thanks for your help.

Noise isn't really an issue but I like the redundancy of separate batteries.

I like 6v for the bait tank, and of course 12v for the FF...

I think it depends on the unit and the setup. On my eXtreme, even though
all electronics were professionally installed, there was noise visible on the
FF every time the kayatank pump turned on. Everything shared the same
battery. Just my 2 cents from my experience.

Since that time, I've gone with separate batteries for multiple reasons. Longer
times on the water when at remote sites is possible with separate batteries.

Wavster, you have no business being that far out..............

My bt and ff share a battery & I get no interference on my ff screen when the bt kicks on (on a timer). I guess you will just have to try with yours and see.

I've got to paddle farther and longer to stay ahead of you and
that 85' mothership of yours...
