lost my mirage drive at la jolla
Hey anglers, lost my mirage drive on Saturday at La Jolla by the launch area. Hoping if anyone seen them. They are blue turbo fins. thanks
|
Did you flip and not have the drive leashed?
Or did it walk away from your kayak? Hope the best for you.
|
yea, came in a little hot and rolled. first time out there... left without it like a ding bat...
|
Leash that... Leash everything when passing the surf.

there was a post just the other day about a found mirage drive. I think dude left it with OEX.
Not sure if it came from the same place... |
Shouldn't have to take out the drive. Leave it in, attach the bungee and adjust it to keep the right pedal back and with the pedals apart the fins should be against the hull. Just don't use the pedals in less than 2 feet off water. Wen coming in you should be using the paddle, for propulsion and bracing against the waves. Also use a leash for just in case. Get off the kayak when you're in about 1 foot of water and quickly go grab the front handle and lift and drag it up the sand.

Sorry this was found before you lost yours, guy seemed to know who likely lost it, as he saw him out fishing. It was left at Seabridge Park, still looking for that owner.

hope you find your drive. expensive lesson.

I always take mine out before landing and launch and tie it to my yak with rope. I've lost enough poles to know better
|
Keep it locked in and you'll never lose it.
