Anyone fishing out of Malibu or Santa Monica
Am new to kayak fishing I've been out in the ocean but where are the good spots
|
If only it were that easy. :gnorsi:

Hi Erick, the good spots are generally where the structure is - kelp, boiler rocks, undersea mounts, hard bottoms, reefs, etc., etc.
Someone's personal "good spot" is, well, usually pretty personal! What type of fish are you looking for? Andy |
Mainly rock fish or halibut. Am not asking for specific spot just general area how far off shore kind of thing and thanks
|
Sounds reasonable. I haven't fished for any of those, so I can't really help you.

I never fished either of those areas, but generally speaking if you can find structure you will find fish. Rockfish tend to like hard bottom so look for that. I lack experience with Halibut, but hopefully someone can help you out with that.

thanks man

Is there any yt passing through there
|
:yt: Yellowtail don't like Malibu too many pretentious people.
|
I would take you around
And show you " The Spots " , but then The Locals would pound me and probably slash my tires. ;)
|
Lol I got some good spots for sheephead but no rockfish

Can't speak to Santa Monica, but Malibu is fun to fish. Mind your launch and watch for protected zones near Point Dume and Zuma. There's been some good posts about Malibu in the past too.

Man thanks I didn't know about the restricted areas
