New to Lake Fishing! Need suggestions...
Hi, I would like to start lake fishing from my PA14. I haven't fished in a lake since I was a kid. So, what lakes in San Diego will allow a PA14? For bass what is the best starter gear? Any other suggestions would be awesome!
Thanks! Joe |

I think El Capitan is open for yak fishing every day of the week. Lot's of pressure though.
For baits I'd stock up on Senkos. You can fish them weightless, Carolina, Texas, or wacky. I've caught more freshwater bass on them then any other bait. There's a ton of different baits out there though. You might want to check out SDfish.com too. They have a good freshwater forum. |
Thank you!

Is this a SOT kayak? I didn't think they were allowed in local lakes only sit-ins.

El Capitan is open Friday - Tuesday and SOT's are good. There are only a few lakes within 2 hours drive from SD that I know of that only allow Sit In Side kayaks; Diamond Valley, Skinner, and Lake Jennings. Check the following link for details on all of the SD City Lakes.

Usually fish Jennings so that's why I thought this.
