Hagerty's

Anyone "beach" launch from there? Parking ? Looking to try the near shore kelp for yt. Any tips appreciated.

Not sure what Torrance beach policy is for kayak launching, but it seems like it would be easier to just launch off rat beach and paddle over to haggerty's. The area NE of the domimator is also a very good area for white sea bass.

Torrance Beach

I launched from there once, never hassled by anyone. Nobody there in the morning, but when we came in, it was tough to find a spot to land. People everywhere.

I usually hoof it down the fireroad with a cart
from Malaga cove school parking lot
launch just past the rocks.

you can fart around that area for cali and hali
or head out and around to PV cove and past to rocky point

that's "the special"'s territory and their deckies like to throw irons at yakkers
even those who were at drift 2 hours beforehand

fireroad gets steep at bluff
turns to hard dirt past the incline

That is a very steep path!
I wouldn't be able to pull my PA12 back up it.
I launch from KH and it ends up being about a 12 mile day (easier than going back up that path)

After climbing it the first time, that hill will make you rethink what a keeper fish is (not to mention your personal limits). It will also help you straighten out your unnecessary gear too.

climbing it backwards helps
but yeh
a light load is the way to go
and take it slow

I keep a lot of stuff in my backpack
and wear that and carry my dry bag
helps lighten the yak

still hard on the knees though
