WOW...amazing temps!
I have never seen the water temperature chart like this before. Temperatures seem literally off the charts. It is starting be like Florida out here! 8/30/2015.
Tempbreak.com shows this now: http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/...pszof0dujr.png Matt |
My in the water meter hit 78.4 yesterday. Unreal !!!!!!!
If this keeps up expect 80 Degree La Jolla water  And even more Hammerheads |
Small baitfish not too keen on high temps

Thats the warmest water I can remember around here. Temps like that are hard on many of our local marine marine environment. Some bottom fish like Rock fish and sheep head just go deeper. Chovies and dean some times go deep or migrate north. Giant kelp can really take a hit during el nino years n take years to come back. Almost all our local species have reduced spawning success in warmer years. But its fun to have the more tropical fish move in. mike

I thought my FF was broken at first. I read 80 until I got to the bouys at LJ then it stayed steady at 78 all day.

This has got to be really bad on the native wildlife and plants out there. I wonder how long it will take to recover.
