Baby Tiger Sharks
Had to laugh at this LA Times article about fishermen catching "baby tiger sharks" up in Orange County.
I think the next time I catch a Leopard shark at the Shores I'll scare the crap out of the tourists and LA Times reporters by calling it a baby Tiger Shark. Chomp chomp. As far as the beach being closed in San Clemente because of a shark sighting, isn't it funny what we know about how many big sharks there are out there versus the general public? Honestly, if people knew The Truth most wouldn't get a toe wet. Speaking of which.....La Jolla on Sunday!!! Yellows beware! http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/l...410-story.html |
These kind of stories always make me laugh.
Its the ocean, sharks live in the ocean. You guys remember when our local news Channels found out about the yearly Concentrations of leopard sharks at the shores? They tried for several years to build hype about "shark infested waters". Ya right. Mike |
That's extra funny that they only closed a two mile stretch of beach. Like that's actually gonna do anything?? Anything for a popular news story, lol

Our urban oriented schools and those anti-fishing, anti-hunting, PETA loving teachers (not every teacher of course) have done a poor job of educating our kids about nature and the fact that when you go hiking in the San Diego foothills you are entering the cougar's food chain, or when you go mountain biking in Montana you're entering the grizly's food chain, or when you hit the beach in California you're entering the White Shark's food chain.
Yes, we are prey items. And you'd think an LA Times reporter would be more I nformed and educated. In case she or one of friends are reading this, read this report to get educated about what's going on out in the Big Blue. http://www.sharkresearchcommittee.co...shark_news.htm |
PETA, teachers and urban schools.......don't get carried away.
Just a poor reporting job by an LA times writer....nothing more... I contacted her.....she said she got her info from a wildlife officer. |
Too funny. I saw this article yesterday and chuckled as I am a regular surf fisherman who targets these "baby tiger sharks." And all this time here I was thinking I was catching leopard sharks. Glad the media was there to correct me.

SC beaches adjacent to the pier were red flagged for the shark sighting until 4:00pm today per SC lifeguards.
The poo spill was coincidental. |
I guess the spill was closer to two weeks ago.
