8/27am nada
Launched at 5:30am from the shores and made my way to bird rock. The seas were a mixed chop with barely any wind. Once I got to BR a few PBers anchored up and the 1/2 day sporties joined. No action for me, after 45minutes of drifting south and chucking the iron, bouncing the iron I went back to LJ kelp. seas had settled nicely, didn't sea any bait or surface action, checked a few of my spots... no sign of anything. Wrapped it up at 9:30am.
As a side note, the guys at OEX Pt Loma repaired by FF power cable and for the first time in a long time I had a functioning FF, awesome job. |
Took the Tiger out today around noon. Some low passes (around 200ft) over the LJ Kelp and
I could only find 2 kayakers (1 lime green, 1 orange). A few sport boats out and a little surface chop. Buzzed the area for awhile, then flew North. A few PB's working Seaside Reef area. Didn't see large schools of yellows... ...would love to hear another report. The kelp actually looked smaller. It may be dying a bit due to the warm water. Or maybe it was just laying down with the wind... |
