modifying a hobie live well for an OK Trident

unusual scupper placement on the trident has left me wondering if simply; a new hole can be drilled for the pump and the old hole sealed (any ideas?).

i really like my hobie bait tank and pending sale might be going back to the paddle route.

Is there any way you can route a longer hose from current pump placement to scupper on trident? And maybe a hose routed for your overflow as well?

Alternative maybe would be to by a test plug for old pump location such as this one. I've used these for a couple things. Haven't tested them for water tight, but they do seal well so I wouldn't put it past them.

Tightens when you screw down wing nut and expands the rubber o ring

I was thinking about just using a hole saw and using the new circular cut out to goop into the old one.

That works

I destroyed a tank at Malibu

I Had the rods in holders leashed down with no play . I lost control of kayak when trying to launch and the kayak rolled in surf and tore two holders out . One was pulled out at screws , the other pealed back the tank . I held the broken piece in place temporarily with heavy duty tape . Mixed up my favorite concoction . J b weld . And bonded it back together . After drying it can be sanded and painted as desired . I did buy a new tank , but since I have multiple kayaks I keep it as a spare . It only has two holders , but it is definitely water tight and sea worthy . If you are really going to do this product either use that cut out piece or just use some duct tape , but I would recommend j b weld over using dome goop that could break down over time . Initially it will look ugly , but if sometime is put in sanding you could make the repair seamless. Hope this gives you some ideas .

The thing about the cut out is it might be slightly smaller than need for the plugged hole. Saw blade will take 1/8"

Aquarium bulkhead and cap will work. Would be easy to remove if needed.

A friend of mine used a spacer block (under the tank)and some elbows to make it work with his older model Outback.
