New lamiglass rod.
So I found this rod at Big 5 for an awesome deal, and saw it has an 8oz weight rating. So I bought it. Does anyone have any experience with theese rods? I looked it up and it looks like its a heavy bouncing rod for salmon/steelhead. So it should be good for halibut or am I wrong on this.http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d5...psaiwlj2bj.jpg

If I'm not mistaken the owner of G Loomis worked for lamiglas before he started his company?? |
That is one huge weight range! Can't go wrong with lamiglas. Really tough rods.

And I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work to pull up some big halibut.

1-8 OZ  is it the same diameter as a broom stick?

New lamiglass rod.
It's meant for Salmon fishing I think. I've been looking at them for a while.would make a good Calico/Hali rod. The weight rating is for trolling wrights not casting.

Yea I know its for salmon and on their websight it says heavy bouncing for salmon so I figured why not use it for drifting for halibut. It has a super sensitive and light tip but a nice heavy stiff backbone. I paired it with a Revo Toro 50.

Fish don't care.....
Looks like a good rod. |
I agree, the rod feels great in the hand. I'll have to see if I can find one near me.
