Late north oc yakkin
So Monday went out of long beach with Adam original plan was fish islands then the wall if he was up for it, long paddle across I hung a 15" sandie on a brushhog deep in the kelp paddle around some more couple hits no more takers for me but Adam pulls a Calico that kelps him somehow he managed to free it and boat it. 13" for him. Paddle back to the beach send him on his way then I paddled on into alamitos for one more little bass and call it a day round trip 10.3miles
After wards my gf and I hit Newport for a wide open bite 68 degree water 8 at night! Yesterday decided to try again. Paddled around the bay and it was cooler 63 had 3 bass on a brushhog and a 3" bh but wasn't focusing on fishing mainly seeing how our dogs enjoyed being on the yaks and just paddling around. Totaled up yesterday with just shy of 7 miles The last 3 trips I've paddled over 25 miles. Not bad for someone who hasn't been on a yak in 5 years. |
Dude. It was a mission. Thought that calico got the best of me, but jokes on him. This Monday too?

That's a lot of paddling! Good thing you caught some fish too.
