Newport, 4-8-14
Launched about 6:15 to clear skies, no wind, and only a little cool. Water was only 58º and not very clear, though as the tide dropped it got to 63º. Lots of bait on the surface when I launched with what were I think mini-cudas feeding on them.
It wasn't until around 8:00 that I got my first bite, and maybe 1/2hr later to get my second bite. Then between 9:00 and 10:00 I got a big lizard and 2 sand bass. The sand bass ate a 4" Flurry in Gold/Chart. At 10:00 I decided a nap was in order and headed in. It was slow, but it wasn't work:) |
Lastnight I fished for a few and it was 65.7 when I wrapped up around 9 I believe.
Was wide open down past the ferry on the little reefs in main channel Ever cast was a hook up. No slobs for me but all decent fish |
I never made it past the Sea Bass pens, maybe I should have. I spent most of my time looking for current. When I found it, I got the fish.
