Squids defrosting...who's going where tomorrow morning?
Fished from the jetty into San Diego river / mission bay channel today on foot. Nothing from either side, then went to scout out the location of the bait barge in San Diego bay, threw plastic for an hour and nada. Came home and took out of the freezer half a pound of nice squid (the Asian market in Kearney Mesa sells a killer box for $5.00)
Am thinking about hitting SD bay and bouncing some whole squid off the bottom in the channel for some halibut. Whose going where tomorrow morning??? |
I'm going out to Coronado tidelands I have squid from today...kayak fishing though.

What time you paddling? Just finished loading my yak on the truck. Have an itch to get the flat kind

Going to LJ in the early morning.

Am going to try the tidelands / under the Coronado bridge area, only fished there once before and would like to try again. Am looking to hit the parking lot at about 6:30. Still seems pretty windy for La Jolla as of 8:10pm

Or more like food for eating... Squid degrades/decomposes probably at the fastest rate as compared to other bait ect.. Dont buy bulk for this reason and try and buy in a 2-5# block. Keep frozen till u drop. Keep out of sun. GL & TL! ( & maybe C&R!) • |
Good advice, it's in the fridge still frozen, I treat my bait as if it's food to eat. Fresh for me = fresh for fish in the morning
