FOOD for Thought

Spent the weekend at Las Encantadas working. We got some framing done, two walls. But the big effort was put out by Svendawg and Walrus. With Sven's Polaris and trailer about 30 cubic yards of sand were returned to the beach. Looked like a bunch of graves on the beach in front of our place. FANTASTIC JOB Sven and Wally, and thank you both.

Just for an idea on costs for a trip to paradise I spent $187.00 for a 740 mile round trip from Vista to Las Encantadas and back. Food for 6 was under $100, plus ice and drinks. It is still pretty inexpensive to go and the roads are in very good shape. Go with a buddy and cut fuel bill. I would think less then $300 per person for a week. I guess the real cost would be for lost tackle.

Thanks for sharing that info. Team Sewer will be headed there in June, we usually roll three guys per truck and share the cost of fuel. Fuel has always been the biggest cost on most of the trips that we've done as a group. Can't wait to get out there and see the place!!

Team sewer chipped in and got a giant waterbed for the place!

It was George's idea.....we could all sleep together.......

Can't wit to get down there.

Hope you are planing on bringing a water truck to fill it or are you sleeping on salt water? We should have the house fully inclosed before June, but we are still looking for a sliding patio door for the front.

What size are you looking for?

I'm going to check out my local surplus supply yard today. Post the size and will get back to you guys. Will buy it if it can fit into my unemployed budget of mine. 😊

We have 14 feet across the front, so we are looking for an 8'sliding patio door, and then we will find a couple of 30" glass panels to put on each side of it. That will give us solid glass across the front. Just want to keep the beautiful view of the islands front and center. To us and our neighbors it is a million dollar view. And we know that those of you who make the time to join us down here will agree.
