Need DP fishing info/launch site/parking
 

Going to DP for the first time, can anyone tell me where I can park and launch my kayak from to get to the bait barge? I have a Dana Point jetski and kayak sticker on the yak and I was told I can launch there for free. How does that work if my friend doesn't have one on his yak? Thanks for any info in advanced!!

Actually I found the thread. But does anyone have any info on free launch from DP jetski and Kayak?

I marked a map of DP with the 3 main parking/launch locations.

I've never launched from DP Jetski, but they have a dock out back. It's directly across from the boat ramps. Maybe someone else can elaborate.

Launch
 

You can launch from Dana Point Jet Ski after it opens for the day. It's a pretty easy launch from the docks behind the shop. The owners name is Tim.
While your there stop in an ask Tim about the monthly Fishing with Friends tournament and pot luck he puts on every month. It's a good opportunity to meet other kayak fisherman and pick their brains about fishing the area

Nice job on the map of the launch locations

I wasn't sure if they only let people who bought a kayak there use their launch or if they let joe public use it. I know in the summertime (tourist season) sometimes they have a guy out front keeping people from using their parking lot unless they are there to buy/rent from the store.

Someone i met recently OTW said they allow people who belongs to Kayak Fishing Mafia and people who attends the turny.

THANK YOU ALL for good info! Will stop by and definitely ask about the tournament. On another note, fished Newport bay today with a sandy and spotty. Very slow, beautiful day on the water though. Ill definitely be using the parking map! Thanks again!!
